Brian Birkner has a diverse work experience. Brian started their career at McKinnon and Harris, Inc, where they worked as a textile finisher, final assembly inspector, machine maintenance, and custom pattern creator. Brian then moved on to TriMech, where they worked as an application support engineer, providing telephone support for Solidworks customers. Brian later joined the Virginia Department of Transportation as a sign designer and fabricator, creating road signs. Brian then worked at Amsted Seals and Forming as a Solidworks drafter/designer and later as a product development specialist, using additive manufacturing and creating prototypes. Brian then gained experience as a staff writer at Barnfinds.com, producing automotive articles. Currently, Brian works at Amsted Rail as the operations lead of additive manufacturing.
Brian Birkner attended Blue Ridge Community College from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Design Technology with a focus on Mechanical Engineering Design. Brian then transferred to James Madison University in 2013 and pursued a degree in Public History/Museum Curation. However, their education at James Madison University was incomplete as they left in 2014.
