Alma Platero

Alma Platero, CCM, is a seasoned civil engineering professional with extensive experience in project management and construction oversight. Currently serving as Sr. Principal Project Manager at Amtrak since September 2022, Alma oversees critical capital construction projects. Previously, Alma held multiple roles at The LiRo Group, including Deputy Construction Manager for the MTA's $11.2 billion East Side Access project and Field Engineer on significant projects such as the LIRR Half-Tie Replacement Program and Amtrak's Hudson Yards Concrete Casing Project. Earlier experience includes serving as a Jr. Utility Engineer for the New York State Department of Public Service and performing inspections for the New York City School Construction Authority. Alma holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Transportation and Highways from The City University of New York and an Associate's degree in Engineering Science from Borough of Manhattan Community College.
