Mike Iaen

Mike Missiaen has a diverse work experience in instructional design and teacher training. Mike currently works at Amtrak as a Lead Instructional Designer, where they conduct educational needs analyses and leads the development of workflow learning initiatives. Prior to Amtrak, Mike worked at Levered Learning as the Director of Teacher Training, where they managed the teacher training program and designed online learning resources. Mike also worked at the Judicial Council of California as a Senior Instructional Designer, collaborating with subject matter experts to design online learning experiences and delivering instructor-led training programs. Before that, Mike worked at Intrax as a Lead Teacher, where they coached and mentored a teaching staff, developed professional development workshops, and trained new teachers. Mike also worked as a Teacher and Curriculum Developer at Intrax, where they developed curricula and taught English and business skills. Mike started their career at Kaplan as an Academic Director, managing academic programs and coordinating student testing and placement.

Mike Missiaen holds a Master's Degree in Digital Media and Learning, which they obtained from the University of San Francisco from 2012 to 2015. Mike also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College from 1992 to 1994. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Excel: PivotTables for Beginners and Learning Articulate Rise from LinkedIn in 2022.
