We are seeking a talented individual to join us as our Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Technician, located in Leland, NC, where you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of both the physical facility and the process equipment utilized in the production of the products and the provision of services to our customers.   As our E&I Maintenance Technician, you should possess the specialized skills to install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical components and instrumentation.   This position requires you to have an extended knowledge of multiple trades, as assisting in multi-craft projects is a norm at this facility. You are also responsible for repairing mechanical systems such as plant utilities including air, steam, hot oil, cooling and chilled water. Additional systems include pumps, piping assemblies, vessel agitation, gearboxes, seals and seal lubricators. And, you'll be required to follow all company policies and procedures pertaining to safety, hygiene, and GMP. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams, and by conducting safety audits.
  • Understand the hazards associated with electrical and stored energy and how to secure and perform lock out tag out and safe work permits.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures pertaining to ISO 22716—Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) guidelines for cosmetics.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repair maintenance on all process equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair or replace and perform calibrations on process instrumentation equipment.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace variable frequency drive (VFD).
  • Motor starter troubleshooting, repair or replace components.
  • Utilize a computer to process work orders or generate a report, access email.
  • Work off shift hours and take call-ins as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirements High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or Trade school certificate.
  • Experience writing technical reports and communicating across various levels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move heavy drums, containers and equipment—up to 70lbs.
  • The ability to work on occasion off shift hours and availability for emergency call-ins.
