Tulu Bacha has extensive work experience in the field of data science and academia. They most recently worked as a Data Scientist at Analytica starting in March 2021. Prior to that, they worked at The AI Institute as a Data Scientist from April 2020 to October 2020. Tulu Bacha also had teaching roles, serving as a Faculty member at Gonzaga University from September 2018 to May 2020, an Adjunct Faculty member at Seattle Pacific University from January 2018 to June 2018, and a Lecturer at Whitworth University from September 2014 to July 2017. During their time at Rutgers University, Tulu Bacha held the positions of Post-doctoral researcher from September 2011 to August 2014 and Adjunct Lecturer from September 2013 to June 2014. They started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Howard University in August 2008, where they gained expertise in software skills and data analysis, particularly in Python and MATLAB. Tulu Bacha also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Howard University from August 2004 to July 2008.
Tulu Bacha completed a Ph.D. in Physics from Howard University from 2004 to 2011. Prior to this, they obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from Addis Ababa University, although specific start and end years were not provided for this period of education. In terms of additional certifications, Tulu Bacha obtained an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon in November 2021 and is scheduled to acquire the AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2022.
