Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Marketing Director to lead our marketing initiatives and drive business growth through a combination of strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is both a visionary leader and hands-on contributor with deep expertise in B2B marketing, a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, deep experience in lead generation and nurturing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with executives and cross-functional teams, especially sales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy to align with business objectives and drive growth, market share, and brand awareness.
  • Lead the annual marketing planning process, ensuring alignment with business goals, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to ensure marketing efforts are integrated and support the company’s sales strategies, including lead generation, account-based marketing, and demand generation.

Budget and Data Management

  • Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI on all marketing activities.
  • Leverage marketing analytics to track the performance of campaigns and initiatives, providing regular reporting and recommendations to optimize efforts.
  • Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and strategic shifts.

Project Execution and Oversight

  • Ensure the timely execution of all marketing campaigns, projects, and initiatives, working across teams to maintain accountability and high standards.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new products, ensuring cohesive messaging and effective positioning.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of content marketing, digital campaigns, events, and other key marketing initiatives.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in the areas of digital marketing, content creation, SEO, brand development, and lead generation.
  • Build team capabilities by identifying development opportunities and facilitating training and growth initiatives.

Executive and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the key marketing interface with the executive team, providing insights, reports, and strategic recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Act as a liaison between the marketing department and other departments, ensuring alignment with product development, sales, and customer success.
  • Present marketing strategies, campaign outcomes, and market insights to executives and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Sales Partnership

  • Partner closely with sales leadership to create effective campaigns that drive lead generation, nurture high-quality leads, and accelerate the sales pipeline.
  • Ensure the marketing team supports sales efforts by creating compelling sales collateral, case studies, presentations, and product messaging.
  • Collaborate on account-based marketing (ABM) strategies to target and engage key enterprise clients.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing strategic marketing plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Demonstrated experience managing marketing budgets, tracking performance metrics, and delivering data-driven insights to stakeholders.

Technical and Strategic Expertise

  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing digital marketing, content marketing, lead generation, and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Experience managing and reporting on ROI of all campaigns, lead generation strategies with knowledge of deployment, tracking and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Pardot, or Marketo.

Leadership and Execution

  • A hands-on leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get work done while also delegating effectively.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus.

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position which requires in office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
