Huagang Xie

Co-Founder/CEO at Ancilia, Inc.

Huagang Xie's work experience includes a wide range of roles in the field of cybersecurity. Huagang co-founded Ancilia, Inc. in 2022 and currently serves as the CEO, overseeing the development of security products and services for the web3 ecosystem.

Prior to this, Xie worked at Palo Alto Networks from 2006 to 2021. Huagang held various roles at the company, including SVP of Cloud Delivered Security Services Engineering, VP of Security Research & Engineering, Director of Security Research & Engineering, Manager of Security Research & Engineering, and Senior Security Research Engineer. During their time at Palo Alto Networks, Xie played a key role in developing the core threat detection engine for NFGW and building the security research team.

Additionally, Xie founded and developed an open source project called LIDS - Linux Intrusion Detection System Project in 1999. This project aimed to enhance the security of the Linux kernel.

Before that, Xie worked at McAfee as a Security Research Manager from 2003 to 2006. Huagang also worked at IntruVert Networks as a Senior Security Research Engineer, where they were a founding engineer for IntruShield IPS, which was later acquired by McAfee in 2003. Xie also co-founded ChinaCluster Networks in 2000.

Overall, Xie has extensive experience and expertise in cybersecurity, ranging from research and engineering to leadership and entrepreneurship.

Huagang Xie received their Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Tsinghua University, completing their studies from 1992 to 1997. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with their education spanning from 1997 to 2000.
