Matt Merkert has a diverse work experience spanning from 1999 to 2020. Matt began their career in pharmaceutical sales at Dura Pharmaceuticals and Elan Pharmaceuticals. Matt then worked at Guidant Corporation as a Business Development Intern and later as a Business Development Manager. Matt continued their career at Abbott, initially as a Business Development Manager and later transitioned to Corventis, which was acquired by Medtronic, where they held various marketing roles, including Director and Sr. Director. In 2014, they joined Medtronic directly as the Director of Patient Monitoring. Matt then founded their own consulting firm, Merkert Consulting, before joining HealthTech Capital as a Member of the Selection Committee. Currently, they are working at Ancora Heart, Inc. as the Sr. Director of Clinical Marketing.
Matt Merkert obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Georgetown University in 1996. Matt later pursued a Master of Business Administration degree from USC Marshall School of Business, which they completed in 2004.
