Mohamed Matar has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Mohamed is currently working as a Senior Engineer at Andes Technology Corporation since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at AMD as a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer from April 2021 to May 2023. Before joining AMD, Mohamed was associated with The University of British Columbia, where they held various roles including Teaching Assistant, PHD Student, and MSc Student. Mohamed'sresearch during this time focused on the design exploration of a faster than Nyquist equalizer system. Mohamed also has experience working at Intel Corporation as a Design Verification Engineer from February 2016 to January 2018, where they were part of the Validation team of the Mixed Signal Group. Mohamed's earlier experience includes positions as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the American University in Cairo, where they worked on projects related to virtual memory architecture and STT-RAM performance enhancement. Mohamed started their career with an internship at Si-Ware Systems.
Mohamed Matar holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, which they obtained from UBC Electrical and Computer Engineering between 2018 and 2020. Prior to their postgraduate studies, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Alexandria University, which they attended from 2009 to 2014. Alongside their formal education, Mohamed has also achieved several certifications, including Heterogeneous Parallel Programming from Coursera in July 2015, Computer Architecture from Coursera in September 2013, Digital Signal Processing from Coursera in April 2013, and they competed as a participant in IEEEXTREME 6.0 organized by IEEE in October 2012.
