Andrew Goodwin Designs
Andrew Goodwin, AIA, NCARB, is an accomplished architect and educator with a focus on impact design for social change. As the owner and architect of Andrew Goodwin Designs since January 2015, Goodwin has been an advocate for humanitarian design and the education of emerging professionals in this field. Goodwin serves as a lecturer at California Polytechnic State University, emphasizing public interest design and community engagement. Previously, Goodwin was the Editor-in-Chief of PUBLIC Journal, which spotlighted the intersection of architecture and activism, and held roles including Principal Architect at ConsciousBuild, Inc., contributing writer at Inhabitat.com, and Associate Designer at Ravatt Albrecht & Associates Inc. Goodwin earned a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2008.

Andrew Goodwin Designs (AGD) is an architecture and design practice with a strong focus on sustainability and social impact. AGD has offices on the Central Coast and in the Central Valley of California, and its current work includes providing design and architecture services to clients primarily throughout California. AGD’s company services include architecture, design, and planning and project types range from education, boutique commercial, hospitality, residential and community or civic projects. AGD’s work also allows the team to continue to provide pro-bono services to non-profits throughout the world when the need arises. Our mission is to design projects that transform lives and living through a spirit of stewardship for our clients, communities, and the environment. We achieve our mission through stewardship of our talents, work, environment, and personal lives. We search for quality in our design and architecture that does not compromise our mission of stewardship. AGD has received numerous awards including the AIA CA Norma Sklarek Award 2017, AIA Emerging Professionals Exhibit 2017 ‘Citizen Design” and numerous AIA CCC Citation Awards and Project of the Month Awards. In 2023, Andrew Goodwin, AIA was awarded the Young Architect Award by the AIA California Academy of Emerging Professionals for outstanding achievements in the first 10 years of being a licensed architect.
