Garry currently serves as the Chief Clinical Transformation Officer at UnitedHealth Group, where they are responsible for driving data-driven and innovative approaches to optimize the quality of care across benefits and care delivery businesses. Garry also holds the position of SVP, Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Clinical Transformation, leading a team focused on advancing clinical transformation strategy and implementation across UnitedHealthcare and Optum.

Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Choy co-founded and worked as the Chief Medical Officer at Q Bio, a digital twin health technology platform that integrates various health data to enable preventive medicine and personalized precision health. Prior to that, they co-founded CredSimple, now Andros, and served as the Chief Medical and Compliance Officer, overseeing a SaaS-based platform for provider data and network management.

Choy also has significant experience at Massachusetts General Hospital, where they held various roles including Assistant Chief Medical Information Officer, Physician Lead/Medical Director of QPID Analytics, and Director of Emergency CT in the Department of Radiology. Additionally, they worked as a Radiologist and Attending Physician, specializing in cardiovascular imaging, thoracic imaging, emergency radiology, and teleradiology. Garry conducted research in medical informatics, clinical decision support, advanced imaging, and global health.

Choy's early career involved roles at Harvard Medical School as a Physician Faculty/Radiologist and at BestDoctors (now Teladoc) as a Consultant. Garry completed their residency in radiology and internship in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. Prior to this, they held research fellowships at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the National Institutes of Health.

Before entering the medical field, Choy briefly worked as a Product Manager at Upwork (formerly eLance.com). Garry completed their undergraduate studies at Columbia University from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Operations Research and Economic Engineering Systems (Management Science / Industrial Engineering) at Stanford University from 1999 to 2000.

After their master's degree, Garry Choy went on to pursue a career in medicine. Garry attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree.

In addition to their medical education, Garry Choy also pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Garry attended The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained their MBA degree.

In terms of additional certifications, Garry Choy has received certification in Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) from the Certification Board of Computed Tomography. Garry is also certified in Diagnostic Radiology by The American Board of Radiology.
