Sarah Donovan has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Sarah started their career as an intern at the Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project in 2011. In 2012, they worked as a Regional Political Organizer for Chris Donovan's congressional campaign. From 2013 to 2014, Sarah served as an Assistant Manager at the George Washington University Health and Wellness Center. Sarah then joined the Service Employees International Union as an Organizer in Training from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, Sarah worked as a Data Organizer at the American College of Cardiology. From 2016 to 2017, they served as an Administration, Finance & Membership Coordinator at the Utilities Technology Council.

Sarah's experience in the legal field includes working as a Research Assistant for Vice Dean Carle at the American University Washington College of Law from 2018 to 2019. Sarah then became a Student Attorney at the college's Immigrant Justice Clinic from 2019 to 2020. Sarah continued their legal career at LeValley Wealth Management, working as a Legal Analyst from January to July 2021. Following that, they joined Anduin Transactions, where they held the position of Legal Analyst from August 2021 to June 2022 and later transitioned to the role of Legal Digitization Manager starting in June 2022.

Sarah Donovan attended the American University Washington College of Law from 2017 to 2020. There, they pursued a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Labor Studies. Before that, from 2010 to 2014, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from The George Washington University. In 2013, they briefly studied Arabic and Area Studies at Université Mohammed V - Agdal, although it is unclear whether they obtained a degree from this institution.
