General Summary: We are looking for a Lead senior Software Engineer to join our growing IT Department for the next generation of our platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms. We’re looking for someone with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. They must thrive in an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development.

Primary Responsibilities fand Competencies:

  • Design, analyze and develop platforms and automation suites.
  • Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies.
  • Test software development methodology in an agile environment.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers and engineers.
  • Present projects and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best
    practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of a wide range of programming languages
  • Proficient in software development and computer operating systems
  • Proficient in advanced mathematics
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to software creation and leadership skills
  • Ability to debug software and systems
  • Ability to create scalable domain-specific pipelines and languages
  • Ability to create the tools needed to develop software with project management skill

Required Education, Experience and Certification:

  •  React and Angular experience
  • SPA / Web Applications
  • Consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Node.js, .NET Core, Java Spring Boot
  • RESTful API development
  • SSO / Azure Active Directory / Entra ID integration
  • GraphQL API development (Not 100% sure we'll need it, but it could be useful to leverage
    here)
  • SQL data schema management
  • Request Monitoring, logging, tracing
  • Networking & security basics (vpn, security groups, access control lists, etc)
  • Data warehouse basics (for integrating with the existing warehouse)
  •  Azure.
    ○ Azure DevOps for project management, code repos, pipelines & releases
    ○ Azure Kubernetes Service (If we go with a complex deployment)
    ○ Azure App Service (If we go with a simpler deployment)
    ○ Azure Blob storage (for asset management & serving up the frontend)
    ○ Azure SQL (Likely PostgreSQL)
    ○ Azure Functions (Not 100% sure we'll need these, but possible)
    ○ Azure Synapse
