Sean Whitaker

Sean Whitaker is a professional with extensive experience in the mining and environmental sectors. Currently serving as Principal Regeneration and Operational Excellence at Anglo American since August 2022, Sean previously held the role of Principal Closure Project Specialist at The De Beers Group of Companies from June 2019 to August 2022. Sean's career also includes positions as Project Manager and Regulatory Specialist at De Beers Canada Inc from September 2014 to June 2019, as well as Industrial Specialist-Mining for the Government of the Northwest Territories from July 2013 to August 2014. Earlier roles include Environmental Scientist at EBA Engineering Consultants Ltd and WESA Group Inc, Laboratory Manager at ALS Laboratory Group, and Production Supervisor at General Motors. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Trent University.
