Desmond Banahene

Desmond Banahene is an experienced security management professional with a robust background in overseeing security operations across various sectors. Currently serving as the Manager of Security Services for the Ghana/Tanzania Business Unit at AngloGold Ashanti since June 2022, Desmond previously held the position of Security Manager at Perseus Mining Ghana Limited from March 2014 to May 2022, where total responsibility for security operations was undertaken. Desmond's career also includes roles as General Manager at Proactive Protection Security Consultancy and Security Manager at Vodafone Ghana, as well as Head of Security at Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd. Holding a Master of Science in Security Management from the University of Portsmouth and a Post Graduate Diploma in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester, Desmond is well-equipped with the knowledge and expertise to address complex security challenges.
