Gareth O'Neill

Gareth O'Neill is a seasoned hydrogeologist with extensive experience in the mining and geoscience sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Hydrogeologist at AngloGold Ashanti and CITIC Pacific Mining since 2021 and 2016, respectively, Gareth has previously held positions at Independent Geoscientist, Advisian, Rio Tinto, Schlumberger, Scottish Resources Group, and Johnson Poole and Bloomer. Notable responsibilities include supervision of field investigations, water monitoring, dewatering planning, and compliance with hydrological standards. Gareth holds a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Geoscience and Basin Analysis from Curtin University, a Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Glasgow.
