Nerilee Rockman

Senior Vice President: Deputy General Counsel at AngloGold Ashanti

Nerilee Rockman has extensive work experience in the legal and corporate sectors. Nerilee is currently serving as the Senior Vice President: Deputy General Counsel at AngloGold Ashanti since May 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at AngloGold Ashanti Australia from April 1998 to May 2021, including Vice President Legal, Environment, and Supply Chain, as well as General Counsel, Company Secretary, and Vice President Legal, Commercial, and Supply Chain. Earlier in their career, they worked at Mobil Oil Australia as a Senior Counsel from 1996 to 1998. Before that, they were a Senior Counsel at Mobil Exploration, where they played a key role in the acquisition of Ampolex. Nerilee also worked as a Legal Counsel at WMC Resources and Western Mining Corporation from 1993 to 1995 and started their career as a Solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques from 1991 to 1993.

Nerilee Rockman holds a B Juris LLB (Hons) degree from The University of Western Australia, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990. Nerilee also completed an Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in 2016. In 2005, they received a Graduate Diploma from the Governance Institute of Australia. Additionally, they completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2021. Most recently, in 2023, Rockman attended the Leadership in Corporate Counsel program at Harvard Law School Executive Education. Nerilee has also obtained an Advanced Management Programme certification from INSEAD.
