Andrew Hollis

Technical Director at Angus Energy

Andrew Hollis is a technical director at Angus Energy. Andrew has over fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on exploration and production.

Hollis began their career in 2005 as deputy director general of Kalmeastern and Mintley Kalmykia. Andrew was responsible for the initial evaluation and due diligence to purchase the assets of Kalmeastern, a Russian company operating in the Kalmykia region of Southern Russia. Hollis then oversaw the development and operation of the field, including drilling, workovers, and production optimization. Under their leadership, production increased fourfold.

In addition to their work with Kalmeastern, Hollis was also instrumental in promoting the acquisition of the Lagansky offshore block. Andrew identified a continuation of promising exploration trends across the block, which led to its purchase by Lundin Petroleum. Lundin Petroleum went on to discover the Morskaya field based on the prospect that Hollis had identified.

Hollis has been with Angus Energy since 2016. In their current role, they provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that Angus Energy’s projects are executed safely and effectively.

Andrew Hollis studied geology and engineering at Queen Mary College, London University. Andrew then worked as a geologist for a number of years before becoming a professor at the University of London.
