Darryl L. Head

Darryl L. Head has over 20 years of experience in the IT field. From 1999 to 2005, they worked as a Database Administrator at Northrop Grumman IT, where they maintained and optimized approximately 27 Oracle instances on various security classification platforms. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as a Sr. Database Administrator at General Dynamics, where they provided operational support in Oracle 9.2x and Oracle 10g R2. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Lead Engineer/Admin (Big Data) at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where they collaborated with Architects, Network Engineers, System Admins, and Developers to redesign on-prem MPP Netezza (Pure Data) and GreenPlum multi-terabyte data warehouses migration efforts to MPP (AWS Redshift). From 2011 to 2017, they worked as an IT Consultant/Data Warehouse Specialist at TekSystems, where they administered and provided operational support on various Big Data High Availability MPP platforms. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as a Solutions Architect/Big Data Consultant at Dell EMC, where they delivered problem resolution to Federal clients' Enterprise Data Warehouse group. Since 2021, they have been working as a Sr. IT Specialist (Big Data Sr. Solutions Architect) at Anika Systems, where they provide Database Analytics and System Engineering executive advisory support and is working on several internal projects involving improvements to existing systems architecture and database analysis and optimization.

Darryl L. Head obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from PennWest Edinboro between 1982 and 1987. Darryl L. also holds a SnowPro Core Certification Exam from Kryterion, Inc., which they obtained in November 2021.
