Zachary Rice

Zachary Rice has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Zachary started their career in the US Navy as a Boat Driver, Navigator, and Communicator in a Riverine Unit. During their 5-year tenure, they led crews, ensured mission success, and held a role as the company's lead Navigator.

Following their military service, Zachary joined Microsoft and participated in the Microsoft Software and Systems Academy. This intensive 17-week program focused on Cloud Application Development and provided him with knowledge and experience in C#, T-SQL, XAML, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and AZURE. Zachary also developed valuable techniques for learning new skills and technologies.

Currently, Zachary is working at Anika Systems as a Cloud Automation Engineer. In this role, they serve as an automation developer, business analyst, and scrum master. Zachary utilizes UiPath to automate various HR processes across multiple government agencies. Zachary works closely with customers throughout the entire process lifecycle and maintains an agile methodology to maximize project efficiency.

Zachary Rice is currently a Sophomore at Penn State University, where they are pursuing a degree in Software Engineering. Zachary started their education at Penn State in 2017 and is expected to graduate in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Zachary has obtained several certifications that enhance their skills and knowledge. Zachary obtained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance in January 2022. In December 2021, they acquired the UiARD (UiPath Advanced RPA Developer) certification from UiPath. Furthermore, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in October 2021.

Zachary also completed various challenges and obtained certifications through the Skill Me Up Academy. In September 2021, they completed the "C# Challenge - Integrating Data with C#" and obtained certification. In the previous month, they completed the "C# Challenge - Building a loan calculator" and received certification.

In March 2021, Zachary obtained the MTA 98-361: Software Development Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.

Prior to their college education, Zachary was certified as Dive certified in Advanced Open Water/ Enriched Air by PADI in 2017. Furthermore, they hold an active secret security clearance from the US Navy.
