Alex Trafton

Alex Trafton has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Senior Managing Director at Ankura. Previously, they served as a Managing Director and Senior Director in the same company. In these positions, they provided advisory services for M&A transactions and technology transfers, and also led the cybersecurity function of the National Security, Trade & Technology practice.

Before joining Ankura, Alex worked as a Director at PINKERTON | Corporate Risk Management Services from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they were the U.S. Operations Manager at GM Risk Group from 2015 to 2019. Alex also had a period of self-employment as a Consultant from 2012 to 2014.

Additionally, Alex has experience as an Instructor and Advisor at Xpert Israel Security Training Center from 2010 to 2012. Alex also worked in the financial industry as an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Shelton Capital Management from 2007 to 2009.

Prior to their professional career, Alex was a professional athlete, serving as a Closer in the Tampa Bay Rays organization from 2006 to 2007. Alex also attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they were a Student Athlete from 2001 to 2006.

Alex Trafton graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. In 2020, they attended Harvard University and completed a program in Cyber Security, focused on Managing Risk in the Information Age. In the same year, Alex also completed a program in Finance, specifically Leading with Finance, at Harvard Business School Online. From 2020 to 2021, they studied Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance at Orange Coast College. Alex obtained various certifications, including ISO 27001 Lead Auditor - Information Security Certification and CompTIA Network+. They also hold certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), among others.
