Benjamin Melsky is an accomplished Chicago-based harpist and arts administrator with extensive experience in music performance and organizational leadership. Serving as the Executive Director of Ensemble Dal Niente since January 2012, Benjamin oversees fundraising, grant writing, and music advocacy efforts. Additionally, Benjamin plays the harp as a principal musician for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and with Dal Niente, while maintaining a versatile career as a soloist and teacher. With a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Harp Performance from Northwestern University, Benjamin has a diverse repertoire encompassing classical, Broadway, contemporary, and various other musical styles.

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra has been a part of Ann Arbor's cultural life for over 90 years. It was founded as a community orchestra in 1928 by five musically-inclined members of the local Methodist Church, and has since grown to become a main player in Ann Arbor's world of art and culture.
