Anna Freud
Natalie Merrett has a diverse range of work experience. Natalie started their career in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant and Personal Assistant at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. In 2011, they worked as a Claims and Inquests Assistant at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Since then, Natalie has held various roles at Anna Freud, including Clinical Administrator, Schools Programme Coordinator, Project Manager, and Co-chair of the Anti-Racism working group. Currently, they serve as the Head of Knowledge Dissemination at Anna Freud. Their responsibilities include managing projects that raise awareness and support mental health and wellbeing in education, producing multimedia resources, and coordinating the Schools in Mind network.
Natalie Merrett attended the University of Leicester from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law. In 2022, they enrolled in the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership in 2023. Additionally, Natalie has obtained several certifications, including "COVID-19 and the mental health of children from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK" from the Royal Society of Medicine in May 2021, "Equality Diversity and Inclusion Training" from Laurelle Brown Training and Consultancy in November 2020, "Effective People Management" from JUNO LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT LIMITED in February 2020, "Presentation Skills" from City Academy in September 2019, "PRINCE2™ 2017 Practitioner" from AXELOS Global Best Practice in July 2019, "PRINCE2™ Foundation Certification Training" from AXELOS Global Best Practice in March 2019, "First Aid at Work" from STS First Aid in July 2018, "Business Administration (Level 2 NVQ)" from NCFE in January 2018, "Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)" from THE TEFL ACADEMY in January 2018, and "APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) (SCQF Level 6)" from the Association for Project Management in July 2014.

We are a children's mental health charity and have been developing and delivering pioneering mental health care for over 60 years. Our aim is to transform current mental health provision in the UK by improving the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of treatment. We believe that every child and their family should be at the heart of the care they receive, working in partnership with professionals. We are unique in bringing together leaders in neuroscience, mental health, social care and education to work together to improve understanding and practice. Our goal is to develop, disseminate and deliver the best possible evidence-based treatment, through scientific innovation, research and collaboration and underpinned by the direct experience and insight of children and their families. To transform the experience of children, young people and their families with mental health issues we: •Carry out research to improve understanding of mental health and resilience and to evaluate and improve the treatments and services children and families are offered. Develop new approaches, tools and services that aim to support children, young people and families in distress. •Teach and train a new generation of clinicians and researchers in the latest skills and tools to improve mental health globally. •Take a leading role in the development of policy and practice in the UK and beyond to ensure that it is built on science, tested experience and has the input of children, young people and their families. •Creatively collaborate nationally and internationally in partnerships which jointly develop a step change in child mental health and wellbeing.
