Dr. Lauren Gillespie

Dr. Lauren Gillespie serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Anne Arundel Community College since August 2023 and has been an instructor at Central Community College since January 2017, where the role includes full-time faculty responsibilities in biology. Previous experience includes an adjunct instructor position at Central Maine Community College in late 2016 and a research role with the National Science Foundation from February to August 2016, focusing on the impact of contaminants on behavioral dynamics in mangrove killifish. Dr. Gillespie earned a Ph.D. in Endocrinology and Behavioral Education from The University of Southern Mississippi between 2011 and 2016 and holds a bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior: Hormonal/Neural Mechanisms from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, completed in 2009. Additional experience includes various field research positions related to ecosystem studies.
