Dr. Ashley Rice is a board-certified dermatologist at Atlantic Dermatology, PA, with a focus in medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology, treating both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Rice completed her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and a minor in dance. She is an honors graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Her postdoctoral training includes Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine/Sampson Regional Medical Center for her transitional year internship and dermatology residency, where she served as chief resident her final year of training.
She has authored many peer-reviewed articles and presented at several regional and national dermatologic conferences, including the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology Fall Meeting, North Carolina Dermatology Association Annual Meeting, and OhioHealth Research Symposium. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Rice has been passionate about dermatology since struggling with her own skin issues. She strives to be a compassionate and empathetic physician and to continue furthering her knowledge in the field. In addition, she hopes to work in partnership with patients as a team in order to achieve their best skin health. Dr. Rice’s interests within dermatology include skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and surgical removal of skin cancer, rashes, acne, and cosmetic procedures.
Outside of work, Dr. Rice enjoys spending time with her husband, Patrick, and their standard goldendoodle, Max. She also loves hiking, traveling, dancing, and swimming at Wrightsville Beach.
