Cynthia Ferguson, MHS, PA-C, is a board-certified dermatology physician assistant in Norfolk, Virginia, and is affiliated with Virginia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center/Anne Arundel Dermatology and Eastern Virginia Medical School. She obtained her undergraduate education at the College of William and Mary. Her Master of Health Science and Physician Assistant Certificate was completed at Duke University School of Medicine. In addition, she also completed a physician assistant surgical fellowship certification at Yale School of Medicine/Norwalk Hospital. She has maintained certification with the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants since 1996. She is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine. Ms. Ferguson is experienced in general and surgical dermatology for over 15 years, practicing in academic and private practice settings. Her clinical areas of expertise include skin of color disorders, inflammatory rashes(eczema), hair loss disorders, skin cancer screenings, and acne/rosacea. Ms. Ferguson routinely performs surgical procedures for cosmetic, benign, and malignant skin lesions. She enjoys seeing a wide range of patients, including pediatrics and adolescents. She has four medical publications. She has been actively involved in graduate medical education with academic appointments at multiple institutions for the past 16 years. She has been an invited speaker on the East Coast for multiple physician assistant conferences for the past five years, presenting a variety of dermatology topics and workshops. Ms. Ferguson previously practiced in surgery and emergency medicine. She resides in Norfolk, VA, and is a sports enthusiast for her teen.
