Dr. Susan Freeberg was raised in Knoxville, TN. She pursued a B.A. degree in microbiology at the University of Tennessee, graduating summa cum laude in 1984. Dr. Freeberg earned her medical degree in 1988 from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and graduated as valedictorian of her medical school class. Following medical school, she attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where she served an internship in Internal Medicine. Dr. Freeberg then completed her three-year residency training in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. In 1993, she returned to Knoxville to enter private practice. In 2019, Dr. Freeberg joined Knoxville Dermatology Group.
Dr. Freeberg is a board-certified Dermatologist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Freeberg is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, along with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, Tennessee Dermatology Society and East Tennessee Dermatologic Society.
