James Butler

James Butler currently serves as the VP & Deputy General Counsel for Compliance and Business Integrity at Ansys, overseeing the company's compliance strategy, ethics, and related functions with a team of 20 professionals. Previously, James held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Rimini Street, where the focus was on developing global compliance programs that aligned with business objectives and regulatory changes. Prior experience includes roles at Lumen Technologies (formerly CenturyLink), where James led corporate legal functions and compliance for a Fortune 200 company, in addition to various positions in private legal practice. James holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and French Language and Literature from Furman University.
