Prashanth Srinivasan

Prashanth Srinivasan is a Scientist II at Antheia, Inc. since October 2021, focusing on yeast strain engineering and metabolic optimization to convert simple feedstocks into valuable plant-derived pharmaceuticals. Previously, Prashanth held the position of Scientist I at the same company, engaging in similar research activities. Prashanth earned a PhD in Bioengineering from Stanford University, where, as a doctoral student, the engineering of baker's yeast for the production of hyoscyamine and scopolamine was achieved, representing a significant advancement in biosynthetic pathways. Additional research experience includes undergraduate roles at the University of Ottawa, where studies were conducted on the role of human microRNAs in immunological responses and their implications for antiviral therapies, as well as investigations into microRNAs and metabolic regulators related to hepatitis C virus infection. Prashanth possesses a BASc in Chemical Engineering and a BSc in Biochemistry, both from the University of Ottawa.
