Dario de Wet

Principal at Anthemis

Dario is an Investment Principal at Anthemis, focused on investing in early-stage opportunities at the intersection of media and financial services – co-developing a first-of-its-kind fund to support media founders in financially empowering creators across industries that have traditionally done the opposite.

He is a mentor for Techstars Music Accelerator and co-hosts the MDLSKL podcast, putting the spotlight on the state of technology and the ever-changing music industry in today’s modern streaming era. Guests include Dr. Dre’s ‘Compton’ protégé and ex-Aftermath recording artist, Jon Connor, Universal Music Group’s Executive Vice President, Olivier Robert-Murphy, and award-winning music tech journalist, Cherie Hu.

He previously worked at JUMO, an emerging markets fintech at its early stages of international expansion, and before that was involved in the joint venture transaction of Ringier One Africa Media (ROAM) – creating Africa’s largest classifieds group.

Dario holds a Master of Business Science in Finance at the University of Cape Town, with a dissertation titled ‘Tencent Holdings Limited: An IPO Case Study’.
