Shan Carter

Shan Carter began their career in 2001 as a Graphic Artist with the Alameda Newspaper Group. In 2003, they moved to the San Jose Mercury News as an Opinion Design Director. In 2006, they joined The New York Times as an Interactive Graphics Editor, where they designed and programmed interactive graphics for the Times' website and built internal tools for the team. In 2022, they became the Interpretability Team Manager at Anthropic.

Shan Carter attended the University of California, Davis from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
