Chief Scientist (Energy) at Anthropocene Institute

Frank Ling has a diverse range of work experience in various fields. Starting in 2006, they worked as an AAAS Science Media Fellow at Voice of America. From 2007 to 2012, they were involved with Jane Capital Partners, where they served as an Associate Director, focusing on web design, content management, social networking, and communications for websites related to clean technologies. In 2007, they also worked as a Mirzayan Science and Technology Fellow at the Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academies of Science.

Continuing their career, Frank joined the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies as a Consultant and later became a Visiting Research Scholar. In 2010, they started working at the Institute for Global Change Adaptation Science (ICAS) at Ibaraki University as a Researcher until 2013. During the same period, from 2008 to 2010, they served as a Researcher at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies.

In 2013, Frank became an Executive Advisor at Smart Wires, Inc., where they worked until 2016. Frank then joined the Anthropocene Institute as a Chief Scientist (Energy) and played a crucial role in solving global challenges related to climate crisis, energy resilience, biological diversity, and sustainability. In addition, they also worked as a Clean Energy Researcher at the Anthropocene Institute.

Lastly, in 2004, Frank worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley and in 2001, they worked as a Producer and Host at Groks Science Radio and Podcast.

Frank Ling earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Caltech from the years 1993 to 1997. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at UC Santa Barbara from 1997 to 1998. Frank went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Prior to their college education, Frank attended Long Beach Polytechnic High, although the precise dates and details about their field of study or degree earned are unavailable.
