Sebastian Nijman

Sebastian Nijman is an accomplished professional in the fields of biomedicine and genomics, currently serving as Entrepreneur in Residence at The Netherlands Cancer Institute since July 2024. Sebastian is the Founder of Nijman Bioconsulting, established in June 2023, and has a significant history as Chief Scientific Officer and Founding CEO of Scenic Biotech from March 2017 to June 2023, where innovative genomics-based therapies were developed. Prior to this, Sebastian co-founded Haplogen GmbH, serving as Chief Operations Officer and leading the firm's successful acquisition by Horizon Discovery. Sebastian's extensive academic involvement includes roles as Associate Member at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd, Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, and Director of Functional Genomics at the Target Discovery Institute. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Medical Biology from Utrecht University and an ongoing program in Negotiation at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
