Naomi Flutter

Pro Chancellor at The Australian National University

The Pro-Chancellor is the deputy of the Chancellor on the Council. The office holder also plays an important role in ANU ceremonies. Naomi Flutter became Pro-Chancellor of the Australian National University in July 2017, having been a member of the Council of the University since July 2014.

Naomi grew up in Canberra, and completed honours degrees in Economic History and Law at the ANU. She shared the ANU Tillyard prize for 1994.

After she completed her legal studies, Naomi worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Canberra and in refugee camps in Kenya and Nepal.

In 1996, Naomi received the Foundation for Young Australians' Sir Edward "Weary" Dunlop Memorial Award which part-funded her Master of Public Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

In 1998, Naomi joined Deutsche Bank's investment banking business in Sydney with a focus on public sector clients and equity capital markets transactions. In 2013, Naomi was appointed the head of Deutsche Bank's Global Transaction Banking division for Australia and New Zealand. In this capacity she was responsible for the delivery of the Bank's wholesale and corporate banking products and services to local clients. In 2016, Naomi assumed additional responsibilities as the Head of Trust and Agency Services for Deutsche Bank across Asia Pacific. In August 2018, Naomi joined Wesfarmers Limited as Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs with responsibilities spanning communications, government, sustainability, Indigenous affairs, philanthropy and the arts.
