Derek Lafont

Derek Lafont is a certified Physician Assistant with extensive experience in oncology and outpatient care. Currently employed at Augusta Oncology since August 2021, Derek has previously served as a Physician Assistant at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from November 2020 to August 2021, focusing on spinal cord injury outpatient services. Prior roles include a position at Medical Oncology University Hospital from August 2013 to November 2020, and a tenure at Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers from February 2006 to July 2013. Derek holds a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Emory University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nicholls State University.
