John McAlvin possesses extensive experience in the composites industry, currently serving as Vice President of Technology for the Americas at AOC Formulations since August 2000. In this role, John leads a team of 45 chemists and engineers focused on developing composite thermoset formulations, coatings, and pigments, with a strong emphasis on market segments such as corrosion, fire retardant, infrastructure, marine, transportation, and construction. Prior to this position, John held various roles at AOC Aliancys, including Vice President of Technology Americas, where John directed innovation and technical service solutions for the composites industry. John holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a polymer emphasis from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Chemistry from Stony Brook University.
