Lance Bates

SVP & President, Interventional Cardiology Therapies at Apama Medical

Lance Bates is their senior vice president and president, of Interventional Cardiology Therapies, a position he has held since January 2022. In this role, he is responsible for their Coronary Therapies, Structural Heart Valves, and Interventional Heart Failure franchises. Prior to his current role, Lance served as their global president, Coronary Therapies from June 2020 to January 2022. In this role, he had responsibility for bringing to market therapies to treat coronary artery disease, including overseeing R&D, strategy, marketing, product development, and global commercial execution of the Coronary Therapies business. Previously Lance served as vice president and general manager, of Coronary Therapies from November 2017 to June 2020, and as vice president, of Interventional Cardiology global marketing from August 2015 to November 2017. Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Lance served in sales roles of increasing responsibility at DePuy Synthes, a division of Johnson & Johnson. Earlier in his career, Lance spent over 13 years in various positions at GE Healthcare and was the COO at a radiology informatics company called INPHACT. Lance has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
