Ahmad Sadr is the Vice President of Technical Operations at Apellis Pharmaceuticals. Ahmad has over fifteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on outsourced manufacturing and technical operations.

Sadr began their career at Portola Pharmaceuticals in May 2016 as the Director of Outsourced Manufacturing. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing technical development, business relationships, cGMP manufacturing, process optimization, process validation, scale-up, and implementation of new technologies. Ahmad played a key role in Portola's alliance with its Biologics Drug Substance manufacturing site.

In April 2015, Sadr joined Vision Medicines as the Vice President of Technical Operations. At Vision Medicines, they developed the CMC strategy for two molecules: a monoclonal antibody (geographic atrophy) to initiate a PhII Clinical Proof of Concept study, and a small molecule (Stargardt disease) from preclinical toxicology studies through PhII POC. Ahmad also engaged Contract Manufacturing Organizations and consultants to select synthesis routes, produce gram and kilo scale API, radio-labeled API, as well as analytical services.

Sadr has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is a valuable asset to any organization.

Ahmad Sadr has a certificate from the Wharton School in management and a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland. Ahmad also has an MS in chemical engineering from Widener University.

They are on a team with Pascal Deschatelets - Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer, Becky Bailey Bristol - Vice President, Us Sales & Marketing, and Sharon Morriss - Vice President, Global Clinical Operations. Their manager is Cedric Francois, CEO & co-Founder.
