Alex Mathews

Alex Mathews is a seasoned project developer with extensive experience in leading large-scale wind and solar development projects in the Western United States. Currently serving as Senior Development Manager at Apex Clean Energy, Alex has a proven track record in greenfield development, land acquisition, environmental permitting, and public relations. As a co-founder and COO/CCO of Stonestep AG, a VC-backed insurtech venture builder, Alex has spearheaded innovative insurance products across Asia Pacific, including payment protection and parametric flood insurance. Previous roles include Wind/Solar Project Development Manager at Eurus Energy America and wind project developer at Third Planet Windpower, where Alex managed multiple renewable energy projects. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Cornell University.
