Marc Sydnor

Vice President Of Western Development at Apex Clean Energy

Marc Sydnor has over 30 years of experience in the energy and environmental sectors. Marc currently serves as the Vice President of Western Development at Apex Clean Energy, where they are responsible for leading the development of wind energy projects in the western region. Prior to this, Marc was the Director of Development - Western Region at Apex Clean Energy.

Before joining Apex Clean Energy, Marc founded and managed Wind Revolutions, LLC, a wind energy development start-up. Marc also worked at BrightSource Energy, Inc. as the Director of Environmental Affairs, where they were responsible for project development and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, Marc has experience in federal permitting coordination, having worked at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Western Gas Resources. Marc has also served as the President of Sydnor and Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in energy, economics, and the environment.

Earlier in their career, Marc worked as a Senior Project Manager at URS Corporation and as a Hydrogeologist at Greystone Environmental Consultants. Marc holds expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and policy advocacy in the energy sector.

Marc Sydnor holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in International Relations from the University of Denver, which they obtained from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Global Studies degree in International Relations from the same university from 2004 to 2005. Their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geology was completed at Northeast Louisiana University from 1981 to 1985. In addition to their degrees, Marc Sydnor obtained a certification as a Professional Geologist from the Wyoming Board of Professional Geologists in November 1997.
