Penn Cox has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Penn currently serves as the Vice President of Finance at Apex Clean Energy, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to that, Penn worked as an independent consultant in the energy industry, providing project development and finance consulting services to clients such as private equity investors, developers, and startups. Penn also served as the Director of Business Development, Energy at Ferrovial US, where they led the company's entry into the U.S. energy market. Penn has a strong background in renewable energy, as they were the Founder, President, and CFO of Rollcast Energy, Inc., a power development firm focused on renewable energy. Penn held this position for 12 years and was responsible for various aspects of the business, including business development, capital raising, and strategic planning. Additionally, Penn has experience as an independent consultant and in various roles at Duke Energy Corporation, eSASA, American Electric Power, and the Merchant Energy Group of the Americas. Penn Cox graduated from Wake Forest University School of Business in 1993 with an MBA degree, earning distinction. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1987. Their education journey began at Durham Academy, where they studied between 1978 and 1983. In addition, they hold a certification in "Using Python with Excel" from LinkedIn, obtained in the year 2020.
