Apex for Youth
Leakena Khy currently serves as the High School Mentoring Program Coordinator at Apex for Youth and the Director of Philanthropy at ACE Pop Up, where responsibilities include managing a volunteer program, overseeing biweekly newsletters, and promoting events via social media. Previous experience includes roles as a Program Operations Associate at finEQUITY, a Khmer Translator for Letters for Black Lives, and as a Youth NGO Representative to the United Nations with Medical Mission Sisters and Associates. Leakena Khy holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Marymount Manhattan College and an Advanced Diploma from Washington-Lee High School.

Founded in 1992, Apex for Youth empowers underserved Asian and immigrant youth from low-income families in NYC to unlock their potential and a world of possibility. Through programming focusing on health and well-being, education, and community engagement, our volunteers support and mentor students of all ages to build the next generation of tomorrow’s change makers. We are in active pursuit of a more equitable future.
