David Chastain

Director, IT Service Delivery at Apex Service Partners

David Chastain has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. David started their career in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Cryptologic Russian Linguist and Primary Marksmanship Instructor from 1988 to 1993. After that, they worked as a Patrol Officer with the Dalton Police Department from 1993 to 1996.

Chastain then transitioned to the IT field and held increasing levels of IT management responsibility in various companies from 1996 to 2011. During this time, they gained expertise in server and database administration, service desk management, and end-to-end service delivery.

In 2011, Chastain joined Ontrack as a Director of IT Operations. In this role, they reorganized resources into a global shared services structure and managed a wide range of IT services, including system administration, network monitoring, and service desk support. David also oversaw IT performance and managed capital and operating expenses until February 2015.

From 2015 to 2021, Chastain worked at Inovalon as a Vice President of IT Operations. David led globally distributed teams responsible for system administration, network management, desktop support, and IT project management. Chastain also played a crucial role in the integration of IT systems during merger and acquisition activities and implemented business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

Chastain then joined Datavant in November 2021 as the Vice President of IT Service Delivery. In this role, they oversaw the delivery of IT services and contributed to improving operational efficiency until August 2022.

Currently, Chastain holds the position of Director of IT Service Delivery at Apex Service Partners since September 2022.

David Chastain has a diverse education history. David obtained a Diploma in Basic Russian from the Defense Language Institute in 1989. Prior to that, in 1987, they received a Certificate in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration from Coosa Valley Vocational-Technical School.

In 2004, David completed the Six Sigma Green Belt Program in Process Improvement Tools and Strategy from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. Later, in 2008, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.

Most recently, David pursued an Executive Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business. David completed this degree in 2023. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) in 2023, Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Professional from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business in 2021, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020, and various ITIL® v3 2011 certifications including Intermediate: Service Operation Lifecycle in 2014, Intermediate: Service Transition Lifecycle in 2012, and Foundation in 2012.
