Christopher McAvoy

Christopher McAvoy serves as the Vice President and Chief IP Counsel at Apex Tool Group, LLC since February 2015, where responsibilities include leading a global IP function, advising management, establishing IP strategies, and managing IP litigation. Prior to this role, McAvoy was the Vice President and Head of Intellectual Property at Husqvarna Group from April 2011 to February 2015, overseeing all patent and trademark matters and managing a global IP team. Earlier experience includes a position as Counsel at Moore & Van Allen, PLLC, and as an Associate at Alston & Bird LLP, focusing on various aspects of intellectual property law. McAvoy began a career in engineering as an intern at CargoLifter AG. Educational qualifications include a JD from Boston University School of Law and advanced degrees in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University.
