Val Livada has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles. In 2018, they served as an Advisor at MassRobotics, offering guidance and expertise to the company. Val also held the position of Executive Director at Boston Hub for the EU's ENRICH program, starting in October of the same year. Val was a Research Affiliate at MIT Materials Research Laboratory, starting in June 2018. Prior to that, they served as an Advisor at Greentown Labs since 2015. In 2012, Val became the Director of the Built Environment Coalition and later took on the role of Director at Monarch Antenna, Inc. and Aphios Corporation in 2008 and 2012 respectively. Val also served as Director at the AutoHarvest Foundation from 2010 onwards. Val has been an Adjunct Lecturer at Boston University Questrom School of Business since 2016. In 2014, they became the Founding Principal at Great Dome Associates, where they specialize in helping established companies innovate and assisting start-ups in commercializing their innovations.
Val Livada has an extensive education history. In 1966, they began their undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Aeronautics in 1971. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended Tufts University, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs in 1973. Val then continued their education at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, where they earned a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) in 1974. Val Livada went on to complete their highest level of education at The Fletcher School, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Law in 1977.
