George Koliakos is an accomplished biochemist with extensive experience in both academia and the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Biohellenika S.A. since April 2006, Koliakos is also the Laboratory Director and Quality Assurance Manager at one of Greece's largest biotechnology companies, which specializes in non-embryonic stem cell cryopreservation and cell therapy support. As a Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since September 1989, Koliakos teaches Biochemistry to pregraduate medical students and mentors PhD candidates. Previous roles include Associate Director and Head of the In Vitro Laboratory at Ippokratis Nuclear Medicine Center, one of Thessaloniki's leading nuclear medicine facilities, and a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Minnesota, where collaborative research produced several publications in prominent scientific journals. Koliakos holds a PhD in Biochemistry and an MD, both from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
