Benjamin Njenga

Benjamin Njenga is the Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer at Apollo Agriculture. Benjamin has dedicated their career to working in the agricultural sector and has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by smallholder farmers.

Benjamin started their career at Safaricom Limited, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Africa, where they worked in customer support. Benjamin then transitioned to the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, where they monitored and evaluated programs aimed at improving smallholder farmers' productivity and incomes.

In December 2013, Benjamin joined ACRE Africa, a pioneer agricultural insurance provider. Benjamin helped spearhead smallholder agricultural insurance, quickly growing the program to insure over half a million farmers against a variety of weather risks. In October 2016, Benjamin left ACRE Africa to co-found Apollo Agriculture.

At Apollo Agriculture, Benjamin is focused on providing affordable and accessible agricultural solutions to smallholder farmers in Africa. Benjamin is committed to helping farmers increase their yields and incomes, so that they can lead prosperous and fulfilling lives.

Benjamin Njenga has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness and Management from Egerton University, and certifications from kasneb in Certified Public Accountant and the Kenya Institute of Management in Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation.

They work with Earl St. Sauver - Chief Technology Officer, Jolien Paalman - Chief of Staff to CEO, and Jana Lessenich - CFO. Benjamin Njenga reports to Eli Pollak, Founder & CEO.
