Andy Roberts

Andy Roberts has over 25 years of work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Andy is currently working at Apollo GraphQL as a Senior Manager - EMEA Customer Success. Prior to that, they were a Core Team Member at Blocksquare starting in 2023.

In 2021, Andy worked as a Solutions Architect at Apollo GraphQL, where they collaborated with enterprise customers to optimize the utilization of Apollo technologies and GraphQL at a large scale. Andy assisted with proof of concepts, architecture, advanced training, and refining message delivery to customer Champions.

From 2017 to 2021, they served as an Engineering Manager at RS Components, leading content, graph, and experimentation teams. Andy played a significant role in strategic projects, such as the migration to a modern architecture based on React, NodeJS/NextJS, and GraphQL. Andy advocated for the adoption of a BFF GraphQL pattern and later implemented a common federated data graph using Apollo GraphQL's Federation.

Andy also contributed to companies like Clarksons Platou as a Frontend Developer, Factor 11 as a Founder/CTO/Product Owner, The Exchange as a Portal Architect/Frontend Team Lead/Technical Product Manager, Aonix Limited as a Consultant/Team Lead, ICL as a Graduate Trainee, and Jigsaw Design as a Webmaster.

Throughout their career, Andy has demonstrated proficiency in various technologies, including AngularJS, ASP.NET MVC, React, NodeJS, NextJS, and GraphQL. Andy has experience in UX/UI design, architecture, frontend coding standards, and development.

Andy Roberts received a Bachelor's Degree in Computing from Loughborough University, which they attended from 1994 to 1998.
