Mikael Mattsson has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and research fields. Mikael worked at APL as the Head of QC-Microbiology, overseeing a team of approximately 10 people responsible for microbiology testing and environmental monitoring. Prior to that, they served as the Director Antibody Discovery at BioInvent International AB, leading a team of around 10 individuals focused on generating antibody-based drug candidates. Mikael also held the role of Manager Antibody Selection & Screening, managing a team of about 6 people responsible for antibody technology platforms. Additionally, Mikael worked as a Scientist and Project Manager at BioInvent, gaining experience in various departments including Antibody Lead Team 1, Protein Array, and Protein Engineering. Mikael also briefly worked as a Lecturer in Microbiology at Malmö University. Throughout their career, Mikael has engaged in numerous collaborations with industry and academia in Europe, the USA, and Japan.
Mikael Mattsson obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular Biology from Lund University, where they studied from 1989 to 1995. Mikael then pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology from the same institution, studying from 1995 to 2000.
