Grant Vermilya

Grant Vermilya is an accomplished professional with a strong background in social work and community service. Currently serving as Flood Recovery Coordinator and Rebuild and Recovery Fellow at Appalachia Service Project since May 2022, Grant has previously held multiple leadership roles within the organization, overseeing operations at multi-million-dollar facilities and engaging volunteers in meaningful activities. Experience as a BSW Membership Intern with the National Association of Social Workers-Michigan Chapter involved planning educational events and managing communication with a network of 30,000 social workers. Additional roles include Project Coordinator for MCC SWAP, where Grant managed home repair projects and collaborated with community partners. Grant holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Siena Heights University, where participation as a Collegiate Athlete and in various student leadership positions further developed skills in teamwork and coordination.
